A Solo Question (haha)

Enclosures and acoustic damping to help quiet them.

A Solo Question (haha)

Post by cyberspyder » Fri Jun 22, 2007 4:54 am

Does anyone know if there's adequate clearance (and breathing space) for a 120mm fan in the lower 3 5.25 bays WITH the bay covers on? The vents for the intake extend all the way up, so I'm thinking that could also work for a bay mounted intake.

Hello Brendan,

I don't have one here at the moment, but once you remove the knock-outs, the trick would be how to mount a 120mm fan. I think it would fit -- but why do you think that you need this? I doubt that you need more than just one of the two optional 92mm fans as an intake.

Because the lower two fans will be ducted to my HR-03s. THe 120mm is for my 120-Extreme

Hi Brendan,

So, would it be a duct to the CPU HSF?

Yes there is, presuming you're going to remove the knockouts. As Neil noted you'll have to get inventive in mounting such a fan (cable ties and so on) but it'll certainly fit.

Probably use cloth elastics...just like the hard drive bungies.
