I just ordered a P182 case to use with a new q6600, Ultra 120 extreme, a fanless video card, and a Corsair 450 PSU. No overclocking.
I need to order a couple of fans for the Ultra 120. I am wondering whether I should also order case fans to replace the stock Antec fans.
I'm leaning towards the 1200 RPM Scythe for the 120. Between the Nexus and the Scythe, which works best with the Ultra 120? If I go with the Scythe, do I avoid the hacksaw?
Would there be a noticeable difference in noise if I replace the stock fans with Nexus, Noctua, or Scythe fans?

I notice a difference whenever I replace stock Antec tricools with Scythe S-FLEX E's.
I'm running a Q6600 G0 stepping in a P182SE with a Ultra-120 Extreme and a single S-FLEX E. I replaced the PSU fan, added the middle bay fan and the rear exhaust fan, and removed the top fan. I haven't closed off the top grille yet. I also have a overclocked 8800 GTS in the case with stock cooling.
I overclocked to 2.99Ghz and am running at 60-62C with the front door open. I think I'm going to do the Kama Bay mod (actually, I'm probably just going to use the HDD bay from my old Antec 900 case). I'm also thinking about putting a second fan no the Ultra-120 Extreme but haven't figured out how I'm supposed to secure the second fan to the heatsink.
I know that Noctua's aren't recommended for heatsink mounting due to not-that-great performance with backpressure. I also just read a thread with someone saying that for that reason they're not that great in front-mounts behind filters.
Anyway, that's it. I'm falling asleep!

Re: P182 - Stock Fans? And Fan Recomend for Ultra 120
I just got the P182, the stock tricools on low are definitely audible. The S-FLEX E on my Ultra-120 Extreme I can't even hear unless I press my face right against the heatsinkDavidG wrote:I just ordered a P182 case to use with a new q6600, Ultra 120 extreme, a fanless video card, and a Corsair 450 PSU. I have 2 Yate Loon D12SL-12 that I'll be pairing with fanmates soon.
So, there was significant decrease in noise by replacing the stock tri-cools?
I'm in the same boat. I have a P180B and about to order Q6600 & Ultra-120 Extreme, but was concern with noise. I replaced my older Antec (heavily dampened w/ dynamat extreme) case with the P180B just a few months ago expecting a big drop in the noise, but it very little so I'm a little disappointed. Now, I'm wondering if replacing all the fans with either Yate Loon or Nexus will be the same disappointment.
