Fan rubber surrounds

Post by Shai-tan » Thu Apr 22, 2010 2:59 pm

Hi guys,
Been wondering what that rubber stuff that you see surrounding some case fans is. Most of the time it looks like the rear fan covers have been cut out and the fan is directly venting out the case.
I heard "edging" mentioned somewhere but I can't seem to find any here in NZ so a brand name would be good too.

Cheers

I think you mean blow hole trim or c channel or c edge moulding. Buy mine from Kustom PCs in the UK at http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/Kus ... html#a2046. They do ship to New Zealand and charge from around £5.50 for signed international airmail.

You can get any little plastic tubing from the hardware or pet store (aquarium tubing) and slice it once lengthwise with a knife. This is cheaper and also keeps the fan from touching (and rattling) on the metal case.

Yeah I was thinking about checking for something similar, at a local Hardware Store (non-computer :P)
