A revised version of the Raven 2 is coming, called the RV02-E.
http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/cases/ ... n-rv02-e/1

Its got the hdd bay from the ft02; which is much appreciated as the old bays were poorly designed, ditched tool less mounting for the 5.25 bays for standard screws and is now using Silverstone's Air Penetrator 180mm fans; otherwise it looks to be identical.
Overall looks like a good improvement, too bad its still not the best looking case...

Looks alright, as long as the price is right.

I wonder if those integrated fan grills are better or worse than the current design, for noise.

I was eagerly waiting for the RV02-E, too.
I contacted Silverstone and asked for a release date and they replied that the Evolution series was canceled.

The RV02-E will not be going into production.

Sad, because for me the RV02 lacks the nice 5 HDD bay and the FT02 is not only expensive but almost a bit too clean looking for me.
My hope is that one can retrofit a 5 HDD bay as used in the FT02 into the RV02. Did anyone already do this?

Hi guys, it appears there is a chance for you to "see" the production RV02-E after all. But it will only be released for the Chinese market. There are still no plans for this version of case elsewhere in the world at this time.

Let me tell you, the FT02 is nearly perfect for high end multi-GPU supercomputing. I have two of them next to my desk right now, with 3 GTX480 and 3 GTX295s. What would make the FT02 even better? The 8 PCIE expansion slots needed for quad-GPU mounting like the RV02 has.. the FT02 only has 7 slots so I'm limited to 3 GPUs.

So dear Silverstone friends, please, at least know that there's demand for the 8-slot rotated-motherboard RV/FT designs! I'd buy the RV02-E!

I am a new owner of the raven 2 case. I must say that this case would definitely need a revised version! Apart from the obvious drive cage problem there are a few things that would need improvement. The screwless drive bays are rubish. My new case has 2 of them defective. There is some little metal peace pointing out of the plastic. Looks like a leaf spring and is preventing me from locking the drive. The other irritating thing is the reset button. It simply stucks every time is being pushed and has to be pulled out with a tweezer because it just wont pop out. A very welcomed feature are the AP fans that allows the 5970 to be instaled without removing the fan grill.

metal plates in front of the case

Please help.

Will removing 3 of the front metal plates in Raven 2 case have any effect on acoustic? Its either removing them or removing the motherboard, but the damage would be irreversable if i cut out the plates.

Hey, good news: the RV02-E (or rather RV02W-E) seems to be coming!

See http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/cases/ ... -preview/3 for nice pictures of a white RV02-E !

My only gripe is that they didn't include USB3. But I'm glad I've waited for the RV02-E.

Thanks for the link. I'm also waiting for the RV02-E. Hopefully someone will compare it with the FT02.
