bottom mounted PSU issues

Post by shunx » Thu Sep 02, 2010 5:32 pm

I have one: the SATA power cables are upside down and I had to twist them around to connect to the hard drives which becomes quite awkward. Are there some tricks to this?

edit: ...I discovered the way of starting the cable from the top instead of bottom *gasp*. Feeling retarded. Not ideal though. Another way is to flip the hard drives around but mounting becomes difficult.

I fail to picture what you mean. Isn't twisting a cable quite easy to do? :?: :)

I had similar issues in my P182. Luckily the case allows for wiring through either side of the case so I can always pick the one that doesn't leave the cables exerting torque on the connectors. I think the problem only exists with SATA power connectors which have a static design - you can't freely twist the connector like you can a molex, since the SATA connector is embedded in the cable.

So my suggestion would be a good case that allows wiring any which way you want to. That way there should always be an angle that works for you.
