Hi all,
I was wondering if someone can suggest a more quiet fan for a Cisco PIX 515?
The original fan at 35dBA is pretty noisy (at least mine is), even with the kit in a closed room, you hear the PIX fan above everything else when you enter. A replacement fan is listed as being 40dBA http://www.magnaroute.com/products/Cisc ... t-3-3.html however I am sure that there is quieter alternatives which could be suggested .. ??

Re: Cisco PIX 515 Replacement Fan
Is this it?
You could replace or slow down the current fan, though it is extremely cramped so it would probably still be too noisy. If you have space you could cut a hole in the top and mount a larger, slower fan outside of the case. A 120mm fan, for example, could shift the same amount of air while spinning at a much slower speed, thus producing a lot less noise.
