Case size comparison chart

Post by miahallen » Tue Jul 26, 2011 10:13 pm

I wanted to create a place where you can easily reference and compare various case sizes. So, I've created this simple spreadsheet with tabs for various case sizes from smallest to largest. If there is a case you think should be added to the list, please post up the dimensions, and a link to the manufacturer's product page, and I'll add it to the list

http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key= ... =100&h=500

If there is a way to embed the spreadsheet in the OP I'm all ears

Nice. :)

I'd like to add the InWin BK-623/628/644, a very small mATX series.
W:140 × H:323 × D:276 mm

300W PSU

I've added a lot more data, and started working on digging up CPU cooler height and GPU length data as well....does anyone find this helpful?

Keep working on it, the more complete it gets the more chance is there for it to get noticed. :)

How about putting all the cases into a single file.

That's how it started out, but I broke it down by request

The Apex MI-008 (reviewed on SPCR http://www.silentpcreview.com/apex-mi008 ) is similar to the Thermaltake Q.

8.7"x 5.1"x 13.5"
220mm x 129mm x 340mm
8.5 liters (sounds low)
250 Watt SFX PSU

Added, and you were right, their volume estimation of 8.5L is a bit off

Excellent idea. Physical size is something that I find is typically overlooked when people compare cases. Especially on other sites, it seems like people generally prefer bigger cases. Every time someone reviews a compact case the first complaint is how cramped it is. Conversely, they also tend to praise big roomy cases but don't really emphasize just how gargantuan some of them are. Sorry about the rant, but this definitely helps compare case sizes.

cases I'd like to see added (if they aren't there already and I missed them)

bitfenix beta (HxWxD) 439 x 190 x 490 mm
bitfenix raider 500 x 210 x 493 mm

http://www.sizeasy.com/page/size_compar ... Antec-SOLO

after seeing the sizeasy comparison the beta/alpha looks too narrow for tall heatsinks so the raider is the one I'd really want most.
