Evercase ECE4252 recommended but...
On the recommended page it says that the Evercase ECE4252 is the best for a silent pc but it doesn't have 120mm fans, only 80mm?! I want good airflow but I want it to be quiet as it will be in a computer desk space and need a good flow going in. Does this case mod to fit 120mm fans or will these be enough?

That's not what Miker said. It would be quieter but cannot blow as much air. The 120mm fans have better noise / airflow ratio, but they are noisier than 80mm fans. So it's a trade-off: You want quietest, go with 80mm fans and tweak carefully for best noise & cooling. With a 120mm, cooling is less of an issue but noise will not be as low as the best quiet 80mm fan setup. My personal preference is for the Evercase with 80mm fans.WannaOC wrote:So something like an L1A 80mm would be better than a 120mm L1A for sound and air?

The back, no. The front, 92mm is no problem, I think. 120mm might be doable, but tight. Check this photo of the inside front panel (from ARM 2000+ Stealth PC review):WannaOC wrote:So there is no fitting a 92mm or 120mm in the front or back on this case?

Tell again why you're so concerned about airflow? You plan to run a bunch of hot components in this?

I'm running an Evercase with 2 of Dorothy's 24V 80mm M1As @12V, grilles cut away, fingerguard on the back. On her figures this can't give more than 15cfm through the case, and I have HD temps of ambient+4, mobo ambient+8. The only audible noise (from these fans - there's an L1A on the CPU which is also audible, and I can still hear a slight whine from the HD) is airflow through the slats on the side of the front panel. If I turn them down to 8V that goes away, and cooling is still sufficient.

I've just modded the rear of my evercase to take a 120mm fan, but it needs a fair bit of work to do it, and once it's in, the only way to mount it quietly is to rest it on the pci alcove section. Luckily I have an NMB fan which doesn't seem to vibrate at all, so it works OK for me. Nice airflow, though I have a B30, which probably pushes too much air throught the case to be absolutely silent. Might borrow a digital camera and put some pictures in the gallery.
