Villin-pfold-protein-confined

Post by peteamer » Thu Jun 16, 2005 10:07 am

Hi Guys,

I've got a p743_Villin-pfold-protein-confined on my Lappie
and got a p742_Villin-pfold-protein-confined on my main rig.

Both machines have dropped to about 1/2 - 2/3rds of their usual PPW.

Is it just AMD CPU's that 'suffer' on these?

... Any one else 'suffering' these?

Any input?

Pete

Gromac cores, right? If you're coming from Tinkers (which AMD's are very good at folding), you'll likely notice a hefty drop in PPD. Not much you can do, just ride it out I guess. Hope you start to get some more Tinkers soon, or maybe some Double Gromacs. Just be happy they aren't Ambers, they usually give me the worse PPD on my A64.

I don't see those listed at http://vspx27.stanford.edu/psummary.html
maybe they are 600 pointers :?:

Check out the #2003 at the very bottom, that would be a good one for you Pete

I had a p741 a while ago, I believe it should be the same project as yours. It didn't seem too bad for a Gromacs project, although on my AthlonXP rigs, it generated a lot less points per day compared to Tinkers. Speaking of Tinkers, I haven't been getting any for my AthlonXPs for the last few weeks, just stuck with large 364 - 600 pointer Gromacs which take atleast 4 days each to complete.

Code: Select all

Project : 741, Frames: 100, Credit: 149

P4 2.8C:
  Minimum Time / Frame : 19mn 20s = 110.97 ppd

AthlonXP 2400
  Minimum Time / Frame : 24mn 09s = 88.84 ppd

Gromacs indeed, frosted.

unregistered,
According to F@H LogStats:
p742: 178 points - 24mins per on a 2400+ slightly overclocked
p743: 210 points - 46mins per on a 1600+

As for the #2300... I ROTFLMFAO* ...
till I thought about it...
then I figured...
'If he's looking at charts of numbers and names that much... Maybe it's time he lost the 'un'...' :P

How are things in 'there'?...

We'll always be here for you mate. 8)

P.S. Now got a 'p1154_L939_K12M_298K_DT_250ps' on my main rig, pulling 1200+ PPW... nearly double!!!

Wouldn't Stanford profit, if they ran a check to see if a CPU is AMD or Intel, and assign WU's accordingly? I seem to get mostly Gromacs on my AMD's and Tinkers on my Pentium M laptop :( . Gromacs on AMD are not so bad, but Tinkers on the Pentium...

One would think so. I guess that'd make too much sense, though.
