How to disable Zalman ZM-MFC2 fan alarm

Post by Edub » Sun Jul 22, 2007 1:25 am

I just purchased the new Zalman ZM-MFC2 fan controller. Unfortunately, whenever I turn on my computer, the controller buzzes twice as the computer is starting up, and intermittently as the system is running. I know this is due to low fan RPM's, but it's annoying and I would like to know how to disable the alarm. Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated!

Do you have fans connected to all terminals? I read in a review the controller assumes 4 fans will be installed by default, and you have to change the mode (to standby if I recall correct) of the ones that have no fan attached.

No, just three fans are installed, but the device allows you to disable the fan terminal that is not in use, which I did. It appears the buzzer alarm is on the circuit board and I wanted to know if there was a specific way to disable it, or if you have the same Zalman fan controller, how did you disable the buzzer?
