Hello,
I have an Antec NSK-3480 case. It comes with 2 5.5" bays, but I only need one for the DVD player. I am trying to mod a pair of hanging HDD's into the main part of the case, so I want the system drive to sit in one of the top bays, and I was thinking of putting it in the top bay, above the DVD player. My only concern is heat on the drive, so I have been looking into silent solutions for cooling the hard drive, but I am not sure how good the options are. For instance, Silverstone's SST-FP53 : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6835220007 or the Tuniq CR-SAN : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6835154004 .
Does anyone have any experience/advice for this sort of thing? Thanks for any help!
Recommend HDD cooler for 5.5" bay?

I have a very low-tech one...
Remove the drive bay cover in between the two drives(leave a space between them, optimally, or one above them).
No, really, - it does a fantastic job of cooling the drives and there's only the sound of moving air. Small, noisy fans just don't work as well as moving air in greater volume at lower speeds.
You can of curse put a metal grille over it of some sort if you wish - or some screen material or whatever if the opening bothers your sense of aesthetics. I did this and my hard drive went from too hot to touch to ~80 degrees F.
