Main Desktop = 2x
SO's Desktop = 1x
2x laptops = 2
1x New Build = 1
Total = 6
Do I have enough? Hell No! I need more drives for storage and backups.

2 desktops, each with one 7200rpm 2.5" (Hitachi 7k100)
2 laptops, each with one 5400rpm 2.5" (factory stock)
1 noisy server in garage, with 'cuda7 OS + 4x 'cuda10 RAID5
Half dozen or so external drives (USB/etc), archival/occasional use only.

my server has two, which will soon by in RAID1 setup, each is 40gigs
my P4 rig has a single 80GB drive
my linux box [aka DHTB] has a single 20 HDD..
ive got a single external 400GB
and a spare 6GB drive that i use to test new hardware with the server.

Just thought of something.. Do USB drives count? Because if they do im using 6-8 drives. They are just off 95% of the time.

I've got a single 80gb SATA Western Digital Caviar SE (I think), which is more than enough for my music and games.
All my videos are on the network-disk (which is 160gb).

14, one system.
Well this weekend I actually took two out to build another system but had I answered Sat sometime it would of been 14... and all in a P180 hah!
4 250GB Samsungs in the bottom part
4 250GB Samsungs + 1 500GB WD in the middle in a custom drive holder thing. The case is designed to have 2 drives, that area, took out all the dumb mounting stuff.
1 500GB WD + 2 500GB Samsungs + 2 160GB Samsungs in a 5in3 hotswap cage in the 5 1/4 bays.
System file system:
8 250GB drives in raid2z using ZFS... think RAID6 but not the same.
2 500GB drives in raid0 for work drive... vmware images and temp storage and bittorrent
1 500GB drive for backup images
2 160GBs for nothing really--- what I removed this weekend
1 500GB for os, 250GB of it is a hotspare to the raid6 array.
=D No its not silent, actually buitl a new system so I can put the current system elsewhere.
