Bad Axe 2 graphics card retention lever?

Post by Stephen » Sat Jan 24, 2009 4:38 am

I have a Bad Axe 2 motherboard, and I recently upgraded my graphics card. In the process of removing the old card, I appear to have broken the retention lever. The card pushes into the slot with no issues, and I have no problems tightening the screw.

Is there a problem with the rentention lever not snapping in as well? Is there anything I can do to fix or replace the lever without replacing the motherboard?

You're talking about the little white thing on the end of the PCI-E slot right? If so, I don't think it's necessary. It's only purpose is to ensure that a seated card stays seated. If you're absolutely certain it's seated, than you should be fine without it. The screw on the PCI cover gives it the most support anyways.
