Teen kills brother over loud music, not PC noise

Post by frostedflakes » Tue Oct 27, 2009 11:00 am

I know it's kind of in poor taste to make light of a situation like this, but I couldn't help myself.
CORAL SPRINGS — A teenage boy stabbed his brother to death Monday afternoon after the two got into an argument about the noise level on a home computer, police in Coral Springs said.

William Gorzynski, 15, was arrested and charged with second degree murder, accused of stabbing his 14-year-old brother, Matthew, in the chest with a kitchen knife. The suspect was taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center.

Police said the brothers, who were students at Taravella High School, lived with an older brother and their divorced dad in the 1700 block of Northwest 92nd Way. No one else was home at the time of the 3:30 p.m. argument.

The victim was taken by helicopter to Broward General Medical Center and was pronounced dead at 4:34 p.m., said police spokesman Sgt. Joe McHugh.

This is the second recent stabbing involving minors in Coral Springs. A 12-year-old boy pled guilty last week to attempted murder for stabbing a 13-year-old neighbor in the back. The suspect in that case also stabbed himself. He was sentenced to nine to 18 months in a Hillsborough County juvenile high-risk juvenile facility.

"Although this is the second violent incident that we have had recently between teenagers, this appears to be a isolated domestic violence altercation and it is completely unrelated to any other incident" said Coral Springs Police Chief Duncan Foster.

wow. Of course psychotic...
My pc all by myself drove me crazy. a 900 athlon. I have stomped on just one, and brought it to the dumpster as if I murdered something, ridding of the body. If someone were there...it would have been considered a strange act.

rage against noisy computers...it is more than noise. I hope somebody proves it.

i can only hope by noise level they meant music...honestly, that's insane...

even my loudest computer wasn't loud enough to bother my dad and his TV watching habit (all the desktops are in the same room as the TV here)...

i'm at a loss with this one...

At first I thought the same thing, maybe he was playing music with the volume turned up too high. But surely if that was the case the article would have said the argument was over loud music, or the sound level of the PC speakers, or something like that. It seems to be referring to the sound level of the computer itself, though.

I had one of those ultra high airflow 92mm Delta fans back when I was more into overclocking than low noise, and those things were extremely loud. Of course getting into a confrontation over it is insane, but at full speed, something like that could be very annoying for others in a house.

A Delta fan equipped PC left on all night to download porn in a shared bedroom could cause some conflict. But these things are never boiled down to a single event. There were surely other factors and the PC must have been the straw.

As everyone else has said, the kid is nuts and the PC is the excuse. But what were they doing home at 3:30, it seems a bit early.?

Alas, not an SPCR situation.

My highschool got out at 2:27, so being home at 3:30 isn't odd, except for the fact that I stayed after school until 6 every day.

But yes, music volume, clearly something to fight about, PC noise, not the case.

These things happen when young people are put on SSRIs.

- it upsets me to no end.

but an SSRI (anti-depressant) can have side-effects that are worse than simply having depression.

Counseling/Therapy is better than those medicines, but that's a different debate for a different time.

I nominated the killer into the Hell's Angels.

That solves that noise problem. 8)
