Quiet Skies

Post by andyb » Fri Apr 16, 2010 4:33 am

I can usually see on a clear day 7 Jumbo's, it's not something that has ever really annoyed me, but its like a quiet computer, you notice a small difference when you turn it off, but you didnt notice when it was on, presumably because we are all so used to seeing them.

As I expect you all know by now there are not many large metal objects containing hundreds of people in the skies, or at least in my skies right at the moment.

I saw 2 aeroplanes this morning, both were small, private, low flying prop powered planes, that is not at all unusual, what was strange was they were the only planes I have seen in the air for 48-hours.

After 9/11 the silence for a few days was amazing!

I think we need a world wide ban on air traffic at least one week a out of every year.

You may want to explain to non EU folks why the skies are quiet.
Noticed it too, the way you describe it nails it. Also, usually when you look up, you'll always see some trails in the sky, now none. It brings some kind of tranquillity.
