Underclocked VGA

Post by Lwood » Wed Apr 07, 2004 2:31 pm

Anyone else using Powerstrip or Coolbits to underclock their video card?

I've got a GeForce 4 ti 4200 128MB card. I started with powerstrip, with the sliders for core and memory clock rates as low as they would go.

After reading this http://www.overclockers.com.au/techstuff/a_coolbits/ I switched to Coolbits

I didn't spend too long trying to see just how low i could go, but my core is now at 80MHz and my memory at 160MHz.

Perfectly stable, but only slightly cooler to the touch. Can anyone confirm this with Kill-A-Watt or something else?

[edit] this card is using the stock cooler, and when i'm feeling the temperature, i'm putting my finger on the top of the card above the gpu
