The NV Silencer 5 Rev. 2 seems quite a bit smoother than the original versions; I find the one I put on my 6800GT to be pretty decent housed inside my P180. Other sources of noise in the machine include all the stock case fans set for low and a 120mm Yate Loon blue LED fan on the CPU cooler undervolted to around 1000rpm, an SP1614N and finally the stock fan of an original release SeaSonic S12-600. Honestly, I have a hard time picking out the Silencer the rest of the sounds in the system. I'd say that by SPCR standards, the machine is medium noise level overall; the thing about the machine, however, is that sound is mid to low pitch and extremely smooth, so what sound it does make is not particularly annoying at all.

I'm not sure which NV Silencer model fits standard 6800, and I am not 100% sure you mean the standard, 12-pipe 6800 (some people refer to their 6800GT or 6800 Ultra cards as, "6800"), but if the standard 6800 requires a different NV Silencer, I'd be sure to consider only a revision 2 model.

ZM80-D?

IF the 6800 power draw around the same as a 6600GT, it would seem like a pretty good choice.

Actually, if it fits, this looks quite good, particularly since you can use any fan of your choice that fits.

Their website says it's compatible only with the 6600 and 6600GT.

Is that just what they've tested? I wish they had a list of things that definitely didn't fit. Just 'cause it hasn't been tested to fit, doesn't mean it doesn't.

Would like to know if it fits in systems with a xp120. I think the picture taken of it just makes it look huge since there isnt one in a system.
