Enough airflow for this to work?

They make noise, too.

Enough airflow for this to work?

Post by Gohan » Tue Jul 26, 2005 11:49 am

Hi, been sorting out a second PC for the sole purpose of playing old win98 games, anyway this was the spec before I made a few changes.

Celeron D 2.93ghz
512MB RAM
Onboard video ect..
Active NB fan.
70mm CPU fan that spun at 2500rpm.

Now I have changed a few bit and bobs, firstly the CPU had to go so I replaced it with a 2.4ghz Northwood based Celly & added passive NB cooler. Now my question is I have added a GF3 Ti500 and I was thinking of cooling it with a Zalman ZM80C-HP but not sure airflow would be sufficient?

The single 92mil exhaust fan and CPU fans are both BIOS controlled and running a 900rpm the 80mil fan in the 250w PSU is running at around the 1100rpm level.

With an ambient temp of around 23c the CPU never gets above 49c under load and case temps are around 32-34c under load. Do you think that my cooling setup will give enough airflow for the Zalman ZM80C-HP to be run passively?

That card should produce next to no heat, i think zalman do a smaller cooler in a gold colour...could be enough

Thanks, I used to have a overclocked GF4 T 4200 cooled by the Zalman, but then that case had much better airflow, that's why i thought I would ask.

Your system sounds great, and definitely cool enough.
