Slim PCI-E mostly silent card ?

Hello,
I just got a shuttle (st20g5) and the pci-e slot is sandwiched between the pci slot (which I'd like to use, so a passive card is not possible) and the side of the case (which I don't want to cut, so a vf700 or silencer is not possible either).

Any recommendation for an ati x800 card which is not too noisy when idling ?
Some people recommended msi or asus, which fans are temperature controlled, how noisy are they when the fan is at minimum speed ? (it's ok if it's a bit noisy when playing a game).

Any particular reason you want an x800 series card?

I've heard good things about this card/cooler, but if you can spend a bit more this 7800GT's got the goods.
