How many watts does the 9700pro use?

Probably less than 50W at load. Around 30W at idle if you are not overclocking at all.
I found this on the 9800 Pro which runs faster on the same process, so it probably draws less than the 9800Pro.
Whatever it draws, it is small enough to use a Zalman ZM80C-HP cooler on it (which I do).

It looks like the
VGA card power dissipation thread was using images hosted by another site, and they've been removed or are denying access to the images based on HTTP_REFERER. Oops.

I think about 25W at idle; about 55W peak.
