Hi all,
i have to rma my x850xt in which i had attached an ati silencer. The aluminum backplate of the ati silencer (used for cooling the ram) uses some horrible thermal pads which have stuck to the ram chips and i cannot remove it. Any ideas on how to take this thing off? Shoot hot air with a hairdryer or put in the fridge ?
Any help will be appreciated.

I've used a razor blade to cut under the thermal pads and then wiggle the backplate off. Hope that helps, good luck.

Thank you for the advice, but finally after one and a half hour of gently pulling and twisting i managed to get this thing off. The thermal pads on the backplate were the worst comparing to the ones on the cooler's side. Anyway, end of the alarm. So, i hope that the card will be replaced.
