I've got an X850XT PE, and I'm looking to silencing this monster. Even when using ATI tool to lower the fan speed, it's got the most annoying high-pitched whine. I'm thinking the Accelero S2 will solve all my problems, with its cooling ability, silence, and low price. But one thing I'm concerned is that it's only got two heat pipes. I know the X850XT is an older card, but would the S2 be able to handle the heat coming off this thing? My stock cooler goes up to 80+ degrees on load.
On a side note, the Accelero S1 has two more heat pipes, but is only compatible with higher end X18xx and X19xx ATi cards. Just looking at them the S1/S2 coolers look exactly the same, just with different number of heat pipes. Maybe the S1 can be modded to fit the older generation ATi cards?
