Should I ditch my passive cooled 8600GTS?

They make noise, too.

Should I ditch my passive cooled 8600GTS?

Post by zerok66 » Fri Dec 07, 2007 4:34 pm

Hi Guys,

I think its time for an upgrade... wanting to move to ATI, but not sure if this is a wise thing. Are there any passive/silent cards out there wiht an ATI chipset that would offer better performance than the 8600?

Thanks,

There's the passive sapphire 3850, which I haven't seen yet, and the passive 8800gt...which is pretty scary hot. Going to be hard finding anything until post-christmas.

Depends if you want gaming or whatnot. You could pick up a 3850, 3870, or even an 8800gt and mount an Acclero S1 on it. Are you averse to modding?

HD 3850 completely blows 8600-seriesout of the water.
