8800gt with accelero s1 and 2 yate loons

They make noise, too.

yep. instead of 1 yate on the s1 i put up 2 yates.
i wonder if its overkill and if i should take off 1 and only have 1

Nice what kind of temps are you getting with that? I too just installed the S1 on my GT running passive no fan and I'm getting 40 idle and about 50 load :-) no fan too nice and silent :-)

It would all depend on your temps and noise you are getting with 2 fans.

Better temps vs more noise, only you can really make the choice if the additional noise is worth the extra cooling.

According to the review, more airflow did not improve much the performance so I guess a single 5v Yate loon should be enough

Which review are you talking about? And I am using the s1's ramsinks and have no ramsinks for volt regulator chips and stuff. Also, the other parts of my computer are coming tomorrow so I cant test the temps just yet

Last paragraph
Only a marginal amount of direct airflow was needed to push the S1 straight past competency and into first-class status — increasing the fan speed past 7V was pointless as there was no significant improvement.

3rd paragraph :
The wide fin spacing made adding a fan easy and only a small amount of airflow was required to make it a top notch cooler.

2 120mm fans are definitely overkill. 1 at 5v already does everything good, even when overclocking.

I imagine even a single 80mm would be more than enough.
