8800GT Which Cooler?
Hi,
Could somebody recommend which would be the best cooler for the 8800GT (or GTS) out of the 3 I've looked at each seems to have pros/cons so I'm not sure which to go for:
#1 HR-03GT + Scythe Kaze Jyuni 500RPM Slipstream 120mm Fan + Zip Ties
Pros: Secure fitting - cons: Expensive, Massive, Zip Ties for 120mm.
#2 Zalman VF1000
Pros: Secure fitting, small - Cons: 1500RPM Min seems like it wouldn't be very quiet?
#3 Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 Rev. 2 VGA Cooler (Passive??)
Pros: Cheap/Good? Cons: poor 'ramsinks' that fall off, a little wobbly.
--- Anyway that's just from what I've read, this is for my first build and I don't have a clue which to go for - preferably one that will be easy to fit but also very quiet
Any opinions would be appreciated, thanks!

Hello and welcome to SPCR!
Accelero S1, no question about it.
Low price and great performance. The ramsinks are not the best (weak adhesive) but there's nothing wobbly about the S1 itself.
It's easy to zip tie a quiet 120mm fan to it if the card is to hot or if the chassi ventilation is extremly bad.

I also have an 8800GT, thought I'd hijack this thread instead of creating a new one...
Currently I'm using a Zalman VF900, but its running fairly hot under full load in my system...
I was wondering, would a passive Accelero S1 be better than the VF900 in my current setup? ( A P182 with front fan blowing over the card area )
I'm assuming that there should be no issues with installing the S1 and leaving my Zalman ram sinks on?

Re: 8800GT Which Cooler?
They fixed the weak adhesive issue in the Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 Rev. 2. I believe it was only Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 that had the issue. I could be wrong but that is what I have been told.JasonSelvy wrote:Hi,
