silencing 9800GTX+

Post by akromatic » Mon Sep 22, 2008 4:11 am

Hi, im wondering what can i use to silence the 9800GTX+ (prefered passive)

i have decent air flow in a SG03 case with 2 120mm front intake fans using scythe slipstreams 800rpm

can i just install an accelero S1 and keep it passive?

Im not certain of the power requirements, but i seem to remember it being very similar to the 4850 in load, and your airflow certainly suggests that it will be cooled fine. My 4850 is cooled passively with the S1 in my SOLO with 1 92mm intake at about 900rpm.

It should be possible but note that the Accelero performs better when a case has negative pressure rather than positive.
