Finally someone releases a heatsink for cooling the VRM section of the HD 4890 and 4870, (albeit a little too late for me) for reference-design PCB though.

Apparently Thermalright is also about to release a VRM heatsink soon.

Just wondering if anyone's tried to fit this on a 4800-series card while using an Accelero S1 rev. 2. It seems to be too tall according to the S1's height restriction drawing that Arctic Cooling has on its website, but maybe it'll fit between the fins?

An user from other forum said it fit with Accelero S1: http://www.overclock.net/ati/526969-zal ... ost6506484

The ZM-RHS90 is 23mm tall

The Accelero S1 rev2 only has 16.5mm of clearance in the area where the heatsink would go:

http://www.arctic-cooling.com/catalog/i ... oS1_r2.pdf

I'm not sure if the Accelero's fins would fit between the fins of the Zalman heatsink, and of course there is the heatpipe in that area which Arctic Cooling state has only 23.3mm of clearance. That's not a lot of tolerance!

I think the dude on overclock.net was talking about the compatibility of the 4890 baseplate and the Accelero, as opposed to the Zalman and the Accelero.

However, I may order one of these Zalmans on a chance that it will fit with the Accelero that I currently have fitted. Will only be £8 or so delivered.

Screw it, I just ordered one of these and will attempt to fit it to my 4890 in conjunction with an Accelero S1.

The fins would be pralallel so they might touch but shoiuld work fine. I just unscrewed the baseplate from the stock cooler. Cools the memory and VRMs, and works perfectly fine and fits under the accelero.

Ok, I just received this. It's a nice, weighty chunk of aluminium :P I won't have time to attempt to fit it in conjunction with my S1 until next week, but will report back when I have had a go.
