They make noise, too.

Accelero L2 Pro - $15 silent cooling for TDP <100-150W

Post by K.Murx » Sun Jul 19, 2009 4:11 pm

Hello everybody,
a review for the Accelero L2 Pro is out.
Just the bare bones:
Compatible to almost any GPU with a TDP <100-150W, including the 4770
9.5 dbA @ 1m in idle [*]
10.9 dbA @ 1m under Furmark load on a 4770.
and that is with the included Fan.
Pricepoint?
$15!
Comes with Ramsinks, too.

I want one. Now.

[*] Note that the guys there probably do not have access to a semi-anechoic chamber, so those measurements are to be taken with a grain of salt. However, they can't be that far off the mark that this cooler would be loud.

[edit] *grumble* Why does the preview not cut off the "W" at the end, but the actual submission does? *reformulates headine*

Looks good. Too bad there isn't 2-pin connector since most HD 4670's and 4770's have 2-pin connector but at least you can do what reviewers did and remove connector shroud and directly connect into pints. But 3-pin and 4-pin eases usage in my GTS 250 and HD 4850-class cards which have 3-pin or 4-pin fan connectors.

Google Translate is hilarious by the way. That's my main observation.

Looks a lot easier to deal with than an S2 with the turbo attachment.

If you have any questions, I would be happy to assist (German is my native language)...

Heh. Pretty much the point comes across with pics and numbers, and the descriptions are good once you put them into context. It was either this one or the card they linked that had an OEM version of it that mentioned breast milk though. Some other good ones, but that was the best "wth" moment for me :D

I'm really looking forward to this :D My computer is by no means quiet, though I am working on it, but the one item in my computer that stands out is during games, my HD4850 sounds like a jet plane taking off.

I got some better case fans on the way, and this will be the next thing that I order :)
