First Radeon RX EU official pricing seen on web

On the german PC integrator Game Machines website, EU Radeon RX official pricing appeared:

Though a tad higher than expected, nonetheless it's interesting to compare Nvidia and AMD pricing.

The new RX 480 costs about 10% less than the EOL GTX 970, while an RX 480 Crossfire pair costs about as a single GTX 1070.
Even more interesting might turn out the RX 470 price/performance ratio.

Let's see the upcoming (next june 29th for the end of the embargo?) reviews.

I really can't see the point of more than 4gb if it is more than 30 dollar difference. Anything approaching the $300's for nice cooling and 8gb, just save for a 1070. I am looking forward to a 4gb model with non-blower cooling, whatever price that comes to be.

This cannot be compared to a 970 as the 970 has 3.5gb of ram usable which has issues for various users. The 970 is sorta trash compared to this new card. Also, I would never forgive nvidia for price gouging till this very day on the 970.

when amd/ati held the crown at times for cards, aside from the oddball double gpu cards, they always were very affordable.

Look, those are *actual* european prices, not paper launch ones, and we don't use dollars, El Jefe.

Whether you're not comfortable with euros, actually the 4Gb will be priced here at about $249 (again, in EU, European Union).

The reference 8GB model is also listed at CZK 8,000 ~ 295 EUR so 4GB will likely be around 250. That additional 4GB seems quite useless, though. Would like it to be way faster and power efficient than the 980 - otherwise I'm just going to buy a used 970.

The price difference is likely due to the VAT (which is different than a sales tax).

In reality AMD can price it how he wants, there wont be much offerings on this segment for six months, I bet Nvidia will try not to miss the before the years end to release the GTX1060 that should be what competes with the RX480, but the reality is the AMD has a big lead over Nvidia on the mid end market. If i was them i would price the 4gb at $250 and 8gb $300, and drop the prices once the GTX1060 arrives, my guess is nvidia will target the same pricing as their GTX960 $250, so here AMD can drop to $200 or so.

I think even at $250 its going to be a very good buy, its going to be faster than the GTX980, AMD is hinting close to GTX980Ti, but i think its going to be in between. But to go for a used GTX970, you should get it below $200 to be worth. The RX480 seems like a really good offering for the money, but one thing is to want one another is to be able to get one, i have been trying to snipe a MSI GTX1080 for two weeks now, and gave up and order it on Massdrop for a july 30 ship date.

Unlikely, it should tie at best (more probably it should score some smidge less).

That doesn't sound logical: at least, here in Italy a second hand 970 Strix or Gaming costs around 220, so that 250 for a *new* 980-class card looks like a better deal.

Many models already sell for around 250 new. That'll force second-hand prices down from the current 200. I've seen a few Msi Gaming for 190 now so I assume a short PCB one with AC Mono Plus will be around 150 soon.

Although it's completely possible I grab a 4Gb 480 from Austria or Italy next week
