Placeholder.

Cut down RTX 2070 rather than a new die, early look:GTX 1070 to GTX 1070 Ti performance with similar TDP selling for $350.

Debates about the name not matching the price notwithstanding, this looks fairly promising from a performance vs. noise perspective. Anyone here picked up a Founders Edition yet?

Founders Editions are probably not the best choice for silence even in 2xxx because they don't turn off the fans in idle unlike many other cards from Asus/MSI/Palit/...

~1krpm at idle is ok with me if its anything like the old 2-fan XFX HD7850 I have. That one falls below ambient for me at that speed (the blades are quite slight though).

Very interesting card, this finally seem like more down to earth pricing, with Navi coming before mid year, seems its going to be a nice bracket for a price war. Im kinda interested on the 2050.

Founders editions sold out within about 3 weeks. I haven't seen any mention of whether there will be any more.

The prices in Canada are a little ludicrous right now, quite disproportionate to US (factoring exchange). The MSI Gaming version (which have had a great reputation for quietness in generations past) is a whopping C$550+. Their Ventus version is $60 less, looks like it might be yesteryears cooler without lights so might be a good value.

If anyone is interested on the RTX2060, the Asus version seems as they have done with the RTX2080Ti/2080, come with the dual bios (performance and Quiet), that its likely to end up as the quietest card.

PS Steve, GTX1660 Ti seems like a very nice card, specially for its price, its much more likely choice for the main market, and there are some that are very promising noise wise and price wise, like the zotac, its likely that the Asus might be quieter, but price wise the zotac is $280 vs asus $330.

Picked up a FE from a friend who upgraded. Price was right and the lack of fan-stop didnt worry me (since most axial fan cards I've come across are quiet enough for me at ~1krpm)....BUT...

ONE of the two fans has a nasty bearing chatter, easily noted in an otherwise very quiet setup. The other fan is fine. Talk about rotten luck. I'll be surprised if nVidia considers it a defect and even if they do, I'm not "the original owner" so that could be issue.

I found several listings for the fans on AliExpress, but they all seem to reference the fans as being a pair of slightly different AVC models, DAPA0815B2UP002 and DAPA0815B2UP003. They look absolutely identical, spin in the same direction etc. Could the pinout on the connector be different? How stupid would that be...
