compatible passive coolers for Rx 550?

They make noise, too.

compatible passive coolers for Rx 550?

Post by capoeira » Thu Apr 23, 2020 6:23 am

Hi, I have a Sapphire RX550 in a semi-passive (passive 99% of the time) case.
I don't hear it at all, unless I throw up a GPU benchmark (I don't do gaming), but I live 100m from the ocean and I try to go 100% passive.
Do you guys know which passive coolers are compatible? or any bigger active cooler which will work without the fan?
Are the mounting holes comparable to any older cards, so I can search for an older cooler?

You might check with Arctic Cooling's tech support to see if the Accelero Mono PLUS is compatible. I don't see the RX 550 listed, but it's worth a shot. Your card has a 50W TDP, so the Mono's larger mass may be good enough to run w/o the fan. However, if you do need a little airflow, the min speed on the Mono is 400rpm, as compared to the stock fan which I'm guessing is over 1000rpm.

thanks. I found out this video where they used a cooler with 40mm holes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0XJGIQS ... 7nZP7iUn2G
Found out those newer arctic ones have 40,2mm holes,
unfortunatly here in Brazil I can only find the Arctic Cooling Accelero L2 Plus, which is very small.
I will have a look at NVIDIA 1050 coolers as they seam to have the 40,2 holes
