Advice on single fan system w. Thermaltake Big Water

Post by msmrodan » Sun Jan 23, 2005 12:31 am

Hi fellow SPCR'ers,

I currently own an ABIT NF7-S with XP1700 Palomino, stuck in an old AT case with a Seagate 160GB 7200.7, Zalman Passive NB heatsink.

My plan is to buy an Antec Super Lanboy case, Nexus 4090 PSU, Thermaltake Big Water and XP2500 Mobile processor.

I want to then remove the 120mm fan from the rad on the big water and screw it in directly below the nexus PSU fan inlet inside the case, in the hope that enough airflow will be generated to keep all temps at a reasonable rate.

From looking at the spec sheets for the lanboy and big water, I think I could squeeze the rad in there. I don't really want a bigger case and the lanboy fits my needs perfectly.

Wanted to ask you whether you have experience with the pump on this kit, how noisy is it? Also any other thoughts would be appreciated.
