possible to pull off a fanless PSU?

Post by El Doug » Sun Jan 22, 2006 7:58 pm

> Im running water through a PC for all components less HDD (CPU, VGA, Chipset).

> There is ample space in a very open case

> There are some vents near the front of the PSU that allowed for airflow from vents to rear fans, pushing air past PSU

think i could pull it off? i have an alternate fanned PSU for replacement, but was wondering if this is even worth experimenting with?

if you have the psu outside the case yeah sure. isolation from the case and open air on all 6 sides will make a phantom 350 very happy.

that's what I have. I have it IN the case, but it is a 1 fan case. rest is water cooled through reserator1, the blue one.

My next system setup though is going to first be on air. Air is so much more pleasant to deal with and you can transport it. (even if across the room I need my computer to be, I cannot move it !)
