MSI K8N-NEO4-F temperature readings... huh???
Well it all started when I installed a Zalman VF-900 on my GF6600gt. I got curious about reading the temperature.
So I installed MBM5, Speedfan, PCAlert and all of them claim my CPU, an A64 3500+, is running at 127 degrees C (not fahrenheit). Now I'm pretty confident this is not the case. The BIOS reads the temperature to be around 40 degrees.
Anyone with the same motherboard have issues with this? Which temperature indicator exactly IS the CPU temp? Could it be that all these programs are reading the wrong sensor? BIOS issue perhaps?
And also what do you guys use to read the GPU temperature? I saw a whole list of temperatures in SpeedFan... is anyone of those the GPU temp?
Sorry if it sounds like "20 questions", but I'm a bit stumped here

If your using the 'classic view' for the drivers, then just right-click on the desktop and select the name of your monitor. The temp readings are accessible from there. If you've got the horrible new interface, you'll want to revert back to the old design, although you can still find the temps listed on the fan control bit, just to the right of the sliders.

Not especially, 44 degrees is still reasonably cold for a graphics card- my 6600GT says it will do 145 before throttling, so I'm sure you've got some headroom. I do have a mild overclock though, with the VF900 running as low as I can get (goes through a Zalman fan controller first).
I wouldnt worry about 44 too much, but if it gets much higher than ~55 degrees at load you may want to look into re-seating your VF900, as there shouldnt be much more variance between idle & load than that.
Hope this helps
