Would you choose a Season S12 550 or a Seasonic S12 600?

Just went to the store to pick up one of these power supplys. The S12-600 is $139 and the S12 550 is $129.

From the reviews it seems the 550 is more efficient and even more quiet than the 600 which is really attractive, but what about the high thermal readings on the 550?? Should I be concerned? What would you choose?

if you dont need that extra 50w then get the cheaper reccomended model!personally i dont think the sound differences would make a difference, but it depends on the power you need.

what system are you going to use the psu with? you need a really powerful rig to utilize such a strong psu. i'd say if you don't have two strong cards in sli/crossfire and a superclocked fx/c2q cpu or some serious industrial raid, you don't need 600w. personally, if i were to choose such a beast, i'd go for the energy+ model.

The s12+ 550w has a bigger 12V rail (41A vs 36A for s12 600w), so regardless its the better psu.

I got a S12 550 because I was planning to run Crossfire. Unless you are running 2 video card, a whole bunch of HD, a lot of extras (fans, lights, USB), and a power hog of a CPU, the 550 probably is overkill. I am quite pleased with the 550 though. If you have that kind of money you might want to get the M12 500, it is modular and has the same amount of Amps on the 12v.
