Want to buy this motherboard but compatible with PSU?

Post by h20 » Sat Aug 18, 2007 5:49 am

I want to buy this mobo:

http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_sp ... m&class=mb

but on the pic i can see that for the power you need 24 pins and for the CPU like 8

but my Antec 450W only has 20 and 4.
Is it still possible with adapters or something or i need a new PSU!!!

Thanx

You can get a converter for your ATX power cable from 20 to 24 pins. About the 12v-4 pin CPU cable I only see a 4 pins cable on the picture but even if it was an 8 pins connector, it should work with your PSU.

And you can often (not always, though) plug a 20pin PSU straight into a 24pin socket and it works fine.
