Hello, and thanks for taking the time to read this. im looking into buying a new computer but i want it as silent as possible, currently i have chosen these components:
Case: Antec Performance One P182
Motherboard: Asus P5Q Pro
Power Supply: Corsair HX 620W
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
RAM: Mushkin XP2-8000 (4096 MB)
Heatsink: Thermalright ULTRA120 Extreme
HDD: Samsung Spinpoint F1 1 TB
GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 4890 Vapor-X
Fans: 2X Nexus 120mm D12SL-12 BW, 2X Noctua NF-S12-1200
What do you think? Is it a a bit of an overkill with Thermalright ULTRA120 Extreme, and 2x Nexus D12SL-12 BW? I do not plan to overclock the system

Hi,
Your component choice looks solid. You said you had no intentions of overclocking, but you could (very) easily obtain 4+GHz on the CPU.
My only concern is the noise of the Sapphire Vapor-X cooler. It will most likely be the loudest thing in your system. Maybe someone here can share experiences with that card.
Otherwise, everything looks good! Hope this helps.
