Fan Testing

I'd like to test some fans without using my PC. Will a PSU run the fans without the PSU being plugged into a MB?

I have adapters so I can plug the fans into the power connectors that come from the PSU.

By shorting wire 14 (usually green) to any grounded wire (black) the PSU will start.
