Hello,
I've been reading some of the (very good) articles on this site, but I could still use some advice for our new system.
We're planning to build a gaming PC with only passive cooling. I've been looking aroud here and there and this is what I found:
- CPU: AMD Phenom II X3 705e (only 65 watt)
- CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper Z600 (no fans)
- GPU: Club 3D Radeon HD 5750 Noiseless Edition 1GB
- Case: Cooler Master Sileo 500
- Fans: 2x Noctua NF-S12B FLX 120mm fans
- PSU: SilverStone NightJar 450W
- Mainboard: MSI 770-C45
- HDD: Western Digital Caviar GP 1.5TB
- RAM: OCZ Gold XTC 4GB DDR3-1066 CL7 kit
- Optical drive: Optiarc AD-7240S-0B
The only active cooling comes from the very quiet 120mm noctua fans. I've read that the CM Z600 in passive mode should be able to cool the 705e.
What I don't know is whether the cooling and airflow will be enough to keep everything from overheating. Any other advice is welcome too.
Thanks for your help,
Dreg N'Tael
