My new system I5 760 high temps? need some help

Post by karkee » Fri Dec 03, 2010 9:05 am

I just assembled my new system, I5 760, 8gb kingston, Asus P7P55D-E Pro

I am using the Noctua Nh-u12p se2 cooler (with scythe s-flex E @ 7V) now idle I get temps around 30° and load 50°, also is it normal to have some cores run hotter then others? I thought it was...

Are these temps fine on stock clock or? I thought I would get alot less...

Unless you've got incredibly low ambient temperature, those core temps are normal. No idea why you'd think they're not. And yes, some cores tend to be warmer than others.

I know nothing about that chip and cooler, but those temperatures seem lovely to me.

If you think it is high for said chip/HSF combo, you could try re-applying the thermal compound. Less is more, and all that jazz. :D

When you said "load", is that mprime/prime95, or is that real-world load?

Its with prime doin some blend and also intel burnin, well temps go at highest 50° in antec solo case :) I guess its nice after all I didn't really know what temps to expect there for I am asking around.

I am not sure what fans im going to use so far I use the S-flex E at 7v on the CPU cooler and Noctua for case. I am tempted to go for to cute white nexus fans if I can find any in belgium atleast :(

Will post pics later on when its all done in my beauty shiny case :D

Hi karkee,

I know nexus fans are hard to find here :( better luck in Nederlands or you could buy Fractal Design 120mm fans, same product, different brand.

Yeah, 50C is great, if I can keep a cpu under 80C I'm pretty happy!

A guy on another forum told me they are nexus rebranded, If you look at the specs the're identical, and the packaging is very similar, but I havent tested them myself.
