seems nice.
course once i build my dual core/sli rig, ill be using watercooling anyway so a passive northbridge is kinda superfluous.

It also has an external SATA port.

I was thinking of getting a DFI NF4 mobo for my AMD A64 X2 setup. I'm leaning towards this mobo, now. I only hope it will be available in stores soon within a month or so.

On the stores' pictures, though, the NB is still fan-cooled.

A store in Finland lists it at 179€ wich is about 220$. Deluxe is 159€ and normal is 139€, at that same store i mean. You can get them cheaper, but so far havent seen the Premium elsewhere. I think this should give you an rough indication of what it will cost. Dont know if this shop has it in stock or not, probably not. www.computeria.fi

I know this is a dumb question, but just to confirm, the extra pci-e x8 slot could be used as a normal x1 (or x2, or x4, etc) slot in case you don't go the SLI route right away OR if in the future you decide to use this motherboard for some non-gaming purpose, right?

It's a good lookin' board with lots of features (including ECC support) so a user can use it to fulfill many roles during its lifetime.

I posted about this in the Abit heatpipe thread (because the design is similar), but it probably should have been in its own thread like this.

The comments from that thread were that the Asus heatpipe runs closer to the board, but it does not use an exhaust heatsink as the Abit design does.

Yes of course the slot can be used for purposes other than a graphics card. If you are asking if the lane 'width' can be changed, I think I read of at least one NF4 motherboard that can do that, so it is probably a matter of manufacturer implementation.

I wish Asus would sell the chipset cooling solution to A8N-SLI Deluxe owners, like me. But this is very unlikely, it seems that one would have to replace the mosfet heatsink too.
