ASUS MB - PWR_FAN connector?

Post by jmarriott » Wed May 10, 2006 9:18 am

On my ASUS P5GD1, there is a PWR_FAN connector. Do some PSUs have a cable which connects to this slot? It'd be nice to know what the PSU fan is rotating at. I know I can connect another chassis fan to it, but knowing the PSU rotation would be nicer.

Any other ideas on how to monitor this value?

The seasonic s12 has an rpm sensor you plug in there. Looks just like a fan cable but with less wires. So the motherboard sees the speed, and usually warns me because it thinks it's too low.

For a while I had a psu fan replaced with a case fan connected there.
