TT Extreme Spirit II Northbridge Cooler

Post by Krazy Kommando » Wed May 31, 2006 8:04 pm

did a quick search on the forums, and i didnt get any results, so...
http://www.thermaltake.com/product/Cool ... -c0034.asp

looks like a powerful little cooler that might fit in the odd places that some nForce4 chips are placed. also looks like the fan can easily be switched, or taken off completely....the stock fan is bound to be louder than the advertised 19db
thoughts?

No doubt the fan will wear out and become noisy as happens will pretty much all small fans. Being thermaltake its probably more like 30dba out of the box, and sure to get louder over time heh.

Should easily run a NF4 passive will minimal case airflow imho. :)

The mounting / orientation flexibility is very good, but I'm not sure if it will be usable fanless.
IMO the surface area is only slightly larger than a NB47J, so it would run hot.
If they would have made the fins out of aluminium, they would have more than doubled the surface for the same weight.

would be awsome to see reviews of this thing against the NB47J, and perhaps also Zalmans new NB heatsink *hint hint* 8)
