Sorry for the thread "hijacking", but... Is it your motherboard? If yes, can you say if the EZ Backup is bootable? This piece of hardware is interesting, i thinkmaukka wrote:Asus P5W DH can accommodate a Ninja just fine.

No, it's not mine. Found it from a Finnish discussion forum._MarcoM_ wrote:Sorry for the thread "hijacking", but... Is it your motherboard? If yes, can you say if the EZ Backup is bootable? This piece of hardware is interesting, i think :)
As the EZ Backup is connected straight to the southbridge (via a Silicon Image chip) and functions without drivers, I'm quite sure it's bootable. Doesn't need drivers from a floppy during Windows installation either.
P5W DH employs ICH7R southbridge which has native IDE.Nexworks wrote:How do you install windows on that board if the southbridge doesnt support any IDE and IDE is only supported by a 3rd party controller?
Don't know how it's done on P965 boards like P5B with ICH8 without native IDE. It hardly seems believable that one's forced to purchase a SATA cd/dvd drive just to install Windows. I'd venture a guess that the onboard JMicron controller has some sort of boot rom to be able to do that with an IDE device.
