Right now my media PC is using the Abit NF-M2 nView and a 65 Watt Athlon64 X2 3800 (Windsor).
At the moment, I don't recall what this board's undervolting options are, but it does have a decent collection of overclocking features.
So I was thinking, the Brisbane 65 nm X2 3600 OEM chips are dirt cheap. At stock speeds, these ought to be reasonably close to my 3800. What I'm wondering is this: could I get more performance at the same heat/power level, or the same performance at a lower heat/power level with the Brisbane?
I'm actually more interested in the latter: my current CPU is plenty powerful for my needs, and runs cool enough. But if I could keep the performance and lower temps and power consumption, it's a win.
Just wondering if anyone has any experience comparing these two chips directly.

I have a Windsor 3600+ 65w EE and NF-M2 nView. Same as your chip except that mine has only 256kb of L2 cache. I managed to get mine down to 1.05v down from the default 1.25v. This is slightly lower than the Windsor 3800+ 35w EE's stock voltage of 1.075v.
I've managed to get my chip up to 2.3GHz at 1.225v, but I *felt* that my room became warmer due to the increased heat output. So I went back to the stock speed.
