Looks good. I just wish Gigabyte sold a MB with 3 16x PCIe ports...

No RS232 or Parallel ;P

Seriously, even for a newer board, rather than 3 1xPCIe, another PCI slot and a 8x or 4x PCIe would be good.

It has a parallel and serial port header on the motherboard. It comes with a slotted I/O which you plug into the port headers. The disadvantage is that it takes up a back slot if you need to use it.

Too expensive and I don't like the layout, but I'm surprised to see an actual X38 motherboard for sale considering how long the chipset was delayed and with with DDR2 support too (intel is pushing hard to switch to DDR3 already).

WARNING on this motherboard!

Did you guys see the huge heatsinks at the bottom of the mothermoard (the other side).

Thing is YOU WON"t be able to install any of our favorite CPU coolers in this mobo.

We won't be able to install a Ninja, nor a Thermalright Ultra.

I will have to pass on this one. Waiting for the Asus P5E3

You can put a Ninja or a Thermalright on it, you just need to do a custom bolt-on mounting for it. With the Ninja this is advisable anyway.

You can get longer screws. I believe Gigabyte even has instructions on how to remove the backside crazy cool heatsinks for cpu heatsink mounting.

this bad boy must be consuming a lot more power than P35 based solutions. anyone has any inputs on the power consumption of X38 chipset vs. P35 chipset in general and this board in particular?
