Kingston LoVo review at Bit-tech

Post by Tzupy » Thu Mar 18, 2010 5:10 am

The review shows the power draw differences in idle and full load (prime95 blend mode) for several modules and voltages.
While the idle numbers are very close, the full load numbers show large differences, that I didn't expect. Maybe memtest would have shown even greater differences.

It is unclear to me if the power differences come only from the memory voltages, or the CPU's memory controller did contribute?

Bit Tech are only just starting to look at power usage - they ran an article a week or so ago checking effects on power draw of various low power or "green" components and that seemed to get them interested

Hopefully they'll continue the trend.

And what is the blend test you reckon,. it is exactly rotating of cpu bound test and memory focused test, therefore it leads to 10-20Watts inconsistency, lets attribute it to the bit tech being green them selves and leave it to that.

So what are these numbers like average or what?
