Intel LGA1155 motherboard with integrated power supply

DH61AG:

This is a pretty interesting product, not because of the low profile, but because it's the first and only (as far as I know) LGA1155 motherboard with an integrated power supply (external 19V).

Almost like a beefed up D945GSEJT. :) Four SATA would have been sweet.

Yeah, the new thin mini-itx form factor. Interesting idea, but yeah, 4 sata would have been nice. Although with two mini pci express slots and a 4x pci express slot, it should be easy to add extra ports if you need them. The thin form factor would be good for a media player with limited storage, but I'm not sure what else it would be useful for.

Think iMac, and so on. All-in-one monitor-PC things.

Just some reference information if anyone searches at a later date...

Internal power-connector is a "Molex 5557-02R" according to page 17 of this pdf.

Thanks for the link. An interesting thing about the thin mini-ITX spec is that the CPU position is standardized. Finally! This should stimulate the development of heat sink cases.

If there is any interest, I recently posted a hands-on w/ the DH61AG and have been very happy with it. We have a full review being published very soon as well.

As you can tell from the article I'm excited about the form factor and feature set :)

For me having only two SATA ports is a non-issue. The mini-PCIe as a SSD boot drive, 1 SATA for a 3TB DATA drive and the last for the optical drive. If I wanted more I think a Supermicro mini-ITX would be more appropriate.

Is this the only Intel Thin-ITX board in the pipeline? And any other manufacturers releasing Thin-ITX boards?

In 2008 Via released a new Mini-ITX 2.0 'standard', which I couldn't see the point of... sadly Via have lost their way on ITX over the years. This Intel standard makes much more sense, and hopefully Intel have the market sway to help standardise designs.

Any idea on price?

:)

Price looks promising: about 80-90 Euro excluding VAT at least in Germany .
