Who besides NewEgg

Got a hot deal to share, info about a vendor, gear to sell, or a question about where to buy?

Who besides NewEgg

Post by Jeff Cutsinger » Mon Dec 17, 2007 9:58 am

I'm going to build a computer in about a month or so (specs coming soon). Very exciting and all, but since I now live in Tennessee, NewEgg charges (~10%!) sales tax (they have a warehouse in Memphis. I say we should just give Arkansas Memphis anyway).

Where should I buy my PC from, given that I can't get it from NewEgg?

www.zipzoomfly.com has pretty good prices on many things (slightly better than newegg), but lack many silent pc specific items like fans and heatsinks. The fans and heatsinks I'd recommend you use www.sidewindercomputers.com , that company is great for those type of things, again very competative w/ neweggs prices and ships fast.

I use mainly

newegg.com
zipzoomfly.com
buy.com

Buy.com has many rebates not available on newegg.com, and they always have free shipping (for all the stuff I bought from them at least).

ZipZoomFly is great. Used it many times.

ChiefValue is newegg's sister site, try that if you find a better deal; not sure about the location of their warehouses though.
