[dead] WD 1TB GP drive $190 at buy.com
Warning:
Since I created this thread buy.com has edited tech specs page and it does not mention WD drive anymore. So I would strongly advise against ordering from buy.com now.
Topic says all. Not sure if it's Retail or OEM or what's the warranty. Buy.com though claims 3 year warranty, if true, that should be enough.

When I posted the link if you clicked on the Tech Specs tab it would say WD10AECS for model number which is WD 1TB GP drive model and 5400-7200RPM speed which was another indicator that this was GP drive.Lensman wrote:The buy.com item says it is manufactured by Cavalry, a manufacturer of external hard drives. It is my understanding that only WD itself sells new WD hard drives - either retail or OEM.
OP, how did you determine this was in fact a WD GP drive?
However, it would appear that since I posted this thread buy.com has edited tech specs and they no longer say it is a WD GP drive.
Given the fact that edited specs do not mention WD drives anywhere, I would strongly advise against ordering from buy.com now.
